  • FRANCE FALLS - MAY-JUNE 1940

France has the largest of the pre-war European armies and the protection of the heavily fortified Maginot Line. Incredibly though, the Line does not stretch to the Channel and the German invaders simply skirt the defences and forge south. The French Army is humiliated, Paris is captured and France falls. The British Expeditionary Force is pushed back and Hitler stands poised ready to invade Britain.

  • ALONE - BRITAIN - MAY 1940-JUNE 1941

Britain stands alone to face the grimmest period of the war at home. British-forces are on the brink of collapse, but Churchill's famous 'finest hour' speech sounds the rallying call which spurs the nation to fight on and the RAF wins the Battle of Britain. Then, Hitler's decision to turn his forces East to try to conquer the Soviet Union takes the pressure off the British.
