Race for the Championship is a UK VHS release by The Video Collection and Thames Video on 7th April 1986, and then it got re-released in the UK by Thames Video Collection in 3rd November 1986.

The 1983/84 season of the Canon League was outstanding with many exciting promotion/relegation issues remaining undecided until the very last matches in May 1984. The 'photo finish' for the League Championship, provided by Liverpool and Manchester United, was a fitting finale for the most difficult and prestigious competition in club football the world over - The English Canon League Championship.
