Video Collection International Wikia

Cinema Club was a label set up by The Video Collection in 1989 for rereleasing movies at a budget price usually £4.99. The label started out rereleasing videos already released by The Video Collection (usually without changing the tape masters), but soon acquired the rights to rerelease films from Columbia/Tristar (Formally RCA Columbia), Vestron (Later First Independent), New World Pictures, Buena Vista and Film Four. In 1995, Cinema Club transitioned as a joint-venture with Columbia TriStar and became a seperate division. in 2002, Columbia TriStar moved their budget distribution arm to Universal, and Cinema Club became a fully owned subsidiary. They began releasing budget DVD releases at this time, and soon began a deal with StudioCanal. The label remained even after the 2 Entertain merger and was entirely folded by 2007.
