Description[]
GEORGE SMILEY IS BACK IN AN ALL STAR CAST.
Taken from the original book by John le Carré, with Denholm Elliott as George Smiley, Joss Ackland as Terence Fielding, Glenda Jackson as Ailsa Brimley and Billie Whitelaw as Mad Janie.
George Smiley rallies to the aid of his former intelligence colleague, Ailsa Brimley, to investigate a mysterious letter from Stella Rode, a junior master's wife at Carne School, intimating that her husband intended to kill her ;in the long nights'.
Smiley telephones Terence Fielding a house master as Carne, and discovers that Stella Rode had met a bloody end the previous evening.
