Nick Faldo staged one of golf's greatest comebacks when he stomed from five stokes behind to win the 1989 Augusta Masters.
As the final round progressed Faldo duelled for the lead with Seve Ballesteros, Greg Norman and Ben Crenshaw, as well as Americans Mike Reid and Scott Hoch. They all had the opportunity to win the Masters outright but the only real challenge came from Hoch as he forced a play-off.
Hoch's chance to clinch the title vanished when he missed a two foot putt on the first play-off hole.
Faldo lived up to the Masters tradition of amazing finishes when he holed a 25 foot putt at the second play-off hole to become only the second Briton to don the green jacket.
